CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Ikea U.S., part of the Swedish furniture maker, has revealed plans to open two new locations in Texas later this year. A small-format store will debut in the Rio Grande Valley’s Pharr Town Center this fall, while another two-story small-format store will open in Dallas’ University Park neighborhood.
With these new stores, Ikea will expand to 12 locations in Texas. Javier Quiñones, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of Ikea U.S., emphasized that the company’s goal is to make their products and services more accessible by bringing stores closer to communities. He noted, “That’s why we’re enhancing our store formats for greater convenience, making delivery more affordable, and ensuring better connectivity with our customers in their daily lives.”
The 44,000-square-foot store in Pharr will feature 1,600 products available for immediate takeaway, with the full range available online for store pickup or home delivery at minimal cost. It will also feature a Swedish Bite café, offering a selection of hot and cold meals. Keena Garcia, Ikea U.S. Market Manager, expressed excitement about the Pharr opening, calling it an innovative way to bring Ikea closer to local residents.
The Dallas location at The Shops at Park Lane will have 3,200 items available for immediate takeaway, including food. As with the Pharr store, customers will also be able to place online orders for delivery or pickup. Ben Sandoval, Ikea U.S. Market Manager, shared his enthusiasm for the new store, emphasizing the store as a hub where customers can experience the full range of Ikea’s offerings.
